Steps to Scan for Device Drivers:

  1. Open Device Manager:

    • Press Windows + X on your keyboard or right-click the Start button.
    • From the context menu, click on Device Manager.
  2. Locate the Device:

    • In the Device Manager window, scroll through the list of devices.
    • Find the device for which you want to scan the driver. You may need to expand the category (e.g., Display adapters, Network adapters, etc.).
  3. Right-Click the Device:

    • Right-click on the device (e.g., your graphics card or network adapter) you want to scan the driver for.
  4. Select “Update Driver”:

    • From the context menu, select Update driver. This will open the driver update wizard.
  5. Choose How to Search for Drivers:

    • You will be prompted with two options:
      • Search automatically for updated driver software: This option will search the internet (via Windows Update) for the latest driver updates automatically.
      • Browse my computer for driver software: If you have downloaded the driver manually, you can use this option to browse to the location of the driver files and install them.
  6. Search for Updates:

    • If you choose Search automatically for updated driver software, Windows will search your device and the internet for the latest drivers.
    • If an update is found, it will be installed automatically.
  7. Restart Your Computer (If Needed):

    • After the update is complete, you may be asked to restart your computer to finish installing the drivers.

Additional Options:

  • View Driver Details: Right-click the device again and choose Properties to check the driver version, manufacturer, and other details.
  • Rollback Driver: If you recently updated the driver and face issues, you can choose Rollback Driver from the Driver tab in the properties window.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your device drivers are up to date and functioning correctly.
